Does anyone know when we might have safe ice in Nebraska ? getting a little cabin fever

As soon as it gets cold enough! Western NE will get it before us in the east! I don't think we will have good ice till after x-mas.

haha. yep. was nice to be able to follow a wheeler out though. much more comforting. wish the bite would have been better. I have not fished many times that my marcum showed more fish than that day. Was crazy. Bite was just slow.....

I'm hoping for walkable ice the week of Christmas but I'm not sure if that will happen. Might have to head North if the pregnant wife will let me.

Well if your pg wife will let you do that you better never let her go! I am thinking of going north myself. From looking at the South Dakota site looks like Brookings or Webster. The next couple of weeks will tell the tale. Temps are looking better after Monday. Here's hoping for cold weather and no wind!

Careful with that lol, i got the "ya sure" statement when the ole lady was 4 months prego and when the kiddo was 6 months old, lone behold that meant I was in the doghouse and not goin for a while again...... Still went a couple times more..... Paid for those too. I went to the Genoa jamboree for the sand drags when she was ready to pop any minute also, that one cost me also hahaha

I've got over 250 red worms left over from the last Trout Family Fishing event the last week in October. Will test 'em along with my stash of Gulp! baits before I break down and buy bulk waxies!

Theres ice out west. Havent checked the big water but been fishing sandpits since Wednesday. All were wide open saturday. They have 3 to 7 inches as of sundown yesterday. Probably more by now. It shouldnt be long before the big water gets hard looking at the forecast.

10 day forecast Im looking at shows 7 days of highs in the 20's and teens, lows in the teens, single didgets and below zero... a lot of season left, don't give up yet!

Small bay at Bridgeport sand pits has 4/5 inches caught some stocker trout and a couple LMB it was just good to get out!!
