safe ice in ottawa?

Anyone know of some save ice in the ottawa area?

I am about to come into 3 weeks of for the first time in 18 years. thanks to a new job. i would really like to get out fishing.

Even bought some sticker lite bibs. ( might take them back and get the Frabil Ice suit instead.)

my buddy at work did a quick recce east of Ottawa last week and it's still not safe yet. He feels another week and it will be GOOD TO GO!!

Crappie bay, has about 4 inches of ice a fair amount of people out today.

it was a good fish for my first ice. 3 crappie and 10 sunny's. VERY VERY pale color. the Walleye float/hut is out on walleye bay but no other huts.

next will report on the ottawa valley area. Lanark to eganville

if i can find a super cheap snowmobile to get on some trails to back lakes this winter will be the best

Forgot to say. the Northland minnow (pink) way the big ticket. i don't think i ever change a single bait same one all day.
i strongly recommend everyone go and buy the 2 pre-rigged pack.

Just got of Clayton Lake today. 6 inches of ice and noisy. but a great day.
