Dd you trap them all or buy them? Either way it sounds like you're ready for first ice. :)

its a little weird going to sea freeze. its a huge facility. you have to go upstairs in a warehouse to order than down stairs to pay then out to the shipping/receiving dock to pickup. its very confusing. the whole time i thought i was gonna get yelled at for being somewhere i was not suppose to be. i dont think they are set up to sell to the public. its more commercial sales i think..

Hi guys, I am jealous. Great Lakes sources for decent deads have pretty much dried up. May I ask what is the average size of these herring? I found the Sea Freeze site and could probably order to Wisconsin (yes I am that desperate). Thanks for the post!

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Txs for the reply chepi....

Just so I'm clear, here's where I'm looking: http://www.seafreezeltd.com/producedwild-caught-seafood/

And here's what I'm looking for:

Atlantic Herring
(Clupea Harengus) Season: Available year round

Graded at:
50-100g
100-200g
200-300g

Our Atlantic Herring is hand packed in fiber board cartons of 12/13 kg. We use a catch weight system with 2-4% over pack.

I haven't had decent deads in three years....
