I find keeping my feet dry, and the right sock system is key for me.

My heated insoles are the cats butt. Lol.

Good fishing.

Just remember that the temperature rating isn't about keeping you warm at that temp. It's about the rubber sole and what temp it will stay pliable before stiffening and cracking. My boots are rated -120. Yeah right. With the minimal amount of movement while ice fishing your feet can get cold with the best of them. Standing on a foam pad or better yet heated insoles($140) will make the best boots better.

Clayton hits it bang on IMO. I was way to lazy to add that much detail. Lol.

Feet off the ice while just sitting still and not moving the feet is the biggest killer to people's warmth i'd say.

Great post.

I lay down foam pads in my tent as well, used to carry a small piece of plywood for putting my feet on.  Best thing is just leave your ice cleats on.  Then your feet are off the ice.

Any of the ones you see rig hands wearing.  Rated -40 to -100.  Sure they are awkward, but your feet never get wet when drilling holes cuz they are rubber and they last forever.  Love mine.  Use em for rig moving, mountain sledding, and fishing!

picked up a pair of Arctic Pro muck boots a week ago, had them on the ice 3 times already and they are great, like wearing a pair of slippers, waterproof and warm. remember you have to wear cleats a lot, at least where i fish and huge boots might make that a bit difficult. mine fit the muck boots nicely.

i have worn Muck boots for the last 3yrs and they haven't let me down yet.  Waterproof and warm really don't need to much else out on the water.
