I don't remember seeing the one you are asking about . But you might try checking with your local bait shop . Most if the have someone they sent them out to or know someone that they could put you in contact with .

Todd Boyles in Kendallvile sharpens mine and I think he picks them up at some bait stores. I can pm you his phone number if you want.

He sharpened a stainless steal aquatic weed cutter no one else would touch. It's scarey sharp now.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

Hi Pearly,  You may not have time or even feel like fooling with them, but I surprised myself last year by sharpening mine myself.  I had heard that it was near impossible but I was just careful to maintain the angles, used a very fine knife sharpening stone, and finished them out with jewelers rouge.  The blades were for an old six inch mora and were even a bit rusty when I started.  I hooked it to my drill plate adapter and it cut like butter thru 20''s. If convenient it might be an option.

12.00?  That is pretty steep considering new ones can be found for around 30.00.  I used to pay 5.00 a set but the local bait shop closed down.  I need to call the retired owners to see where they had them done.  They were like new when I got them back.

I've sharpened mine for years and works great. As Fishinator said if you take your time and keep the same angles while using a quality stone, you may surprise yourself.

I think the sharpening center on goshen is like 5 or 6 bucks. I've had 2 sets done separately there and one was rusty going in they both came back working great. Also he said if anything didn't work well he'd take care of it

You used to sh** outside last year????  The 5.00 was last winter and you got your own blades back and they were coated in a wax as to not damage the honed edge or cut yourself when storing them or handling them before use.

I want to say I paid 30ish some years back. Not too many people will touch a nils around here as its more of a bit (head) then a blade. I know whatever it cost , it was way cheaper then buying a replacement head and it was super sharp on return. Original head returned to u and field tested. Not sure his current prices

Ah...yeah the new nils heads are between 50 and 100 depending on size to replace.  I have 6 sets of 6" lazer blades, 2 sets need sharpened and 4 sets are new.  Maybe I will wait until the end of the year and send them all in at once unless I can find who the local guy that was doing them for 5.00 was.

Imo value wise I feel that lazers are the best cut for the cost of blades. I do like the nils but have to treat it like a porcelain doll.  The lazer, just buy a new set and youre blasting thru ice again. Easy to change.
Btw what are u doing with 6 sets? I Know you drill some holes but dang, I keep a back up set. 4 new sets, id say  you're good for the season........ here to China lol

I have 2 lazers....both 6"...just got the second at the end of last year with SM was running a 33% off sale...got the auger with swiss blades and 2 more sets of swiss blades with it at the discount....so I went from 3 sets to 6 for 2 augers.

I have good luck with the Accusharp  auger sharp. Don't wait until the blades are shot it's not for making a new edge. Read the instructions as you can ruin a set FAST..... I never read the instructions until after I screw screw it up.

I turned off my auto correct. It created some very embarrassing moments!

Not the same thing but I once sent an email to my wife that I loved her and missed her. Only problem was I suddenly realized I had sent the email to my editor! You can bet another email instantly went out to the editor to ignore that email as it was meant for my wife!

The trouble with emails is once they go out you can't get them back!
