Other than electrical tape, what do you guys use to mount your spinning reels on Tennessee handle rods? Thanks in advance.

I like castration bands.  A 100 pack is pretty cheap.  They do leave marks in the handle though

I always used elec tape    Have just pulled tight and thin.
I have a few buddies use the castration band.  Imo  not a fan.  But what's works for some not for others ect.
I'd try the rings and if you don't like your not out much.

Personally really like the minima reel seats from 13 fishing rods.   Fits my hand perfect..

Thanks guys, I have been using the silicone plumbers tape (Tommy Tape). I have been looking at this, I think they use it to wrap a grip on hockey sticks. I don't like that it is 1.5 inches wide. Thoughts?

Speedy, I don't think that's a tape you'd want to use on your rod. It is far too elastic and the adhesive qualities suck. As an electrician, I can tell you that's theres a major difference in electrical tapes. The cheap Jap-wrap as we call it is terrible and doesn't stand up to the cold. I use 3M super 33 tape.  It's the best, hands down. Good luck.

I have never had a problem with 3M electrical tape. Heck I even have a reel attached with duct tape that has been doing just fine. I leave my reels on my ice rods so I don't worry about left over adhesive.

Not sure what the official name is, but they make small rubber bands specifically for this purpose.  I got some on clearance a couple years ago and broke them out last year and really like them.  Easy to roll on / off and they don't leave goop on your reel or rod.  I will see if I have the package, but I am sure others know what I am referring to.

Cold Snap outdoors sells them.  In my opinion it is a calf castration band with a funnel.  I won their kit a couple of years ago and bought the bands to use after that.  I will promote for them as well because I think they're a great company.  I LOVE their ice auger covers and will always have one!

Casteration bands / rubber O rings work well however they do dry out and crack. I used them
all last winter without failure but when I was breaking rods down in April, I noticed that
they were all drying out and had many hairline cracks. Since I didnt particularly care for
the way they felt when I fished without gloves,  I switched back to 3M "33" elec tape for this
year.  All electrical tapes are not created equal!

Use this stuff better then castration bands. Plus color selection.
