Strikemaster Parts
« on: Nov 20, 2014, 12:23 AM »
I was wondering if anyone knows how to get Strikemaster auger parts.  I have an older Mag 2000.  The plastic composite handle broke and needs to be replaced.  I would rather have the old metal handle, but I realize that probably isn't going to happen.  I got on their website and couldn't even find their phone number.  Apparently, you can't get parts through the company.  Also, if I can't find a replacement handle, what kind of epoxy do you recommend to glue it back together,?

This is the first time I have ever heard of someone breaking one of these handles short of running it over. Did you drop it in the driveway or something? I'm just curious.

Thanks for the replies.  The handle was already broke when I got the auger.  It is older (1991, I think), so they may have been made with a cheaper plastic back then.

Have seen that before over the years from people letting them "snap back" hard when really cold.

I got on the D-Rock website and noticed that there is a composite and a plastic handle. Does anyone know which one is better?

Hey Rebel, what causes them to snap back?

Hey Rebel, what causes them to snap back?

When people don't pull until they feel it"engage", and give it a full arm yank, either having it snap out of their hand , or letting it "snap" back by itself. Proper way is pull until it engages, then give a short, quick, pull. Normally the composite holds up better in the cold than the plastic does.

Thanks Rebel, I will get the composite one.  Now I know what you are talking about.  I always let it engage first.

Another good source of parts, especially for Tecumseh engines parts, is:
