Jiffy pro4 lite
« on: Nov 19, 2014, 06:29 PM »
Just pick up a new propane pro lite. Figured its time and price was right
Upgraded from jiffy 30 which is only 1 1/2 yrs old
Last year tank crank and got gas all over everything
Installed new tank.   Anyway who's using the tank sleeves ?
Notice difference with tank life with sleeve?
Thanks

Ive used my Pro4 thru 3 seasons now and never had a tank sleeve.  We're in Ohio so at the coldest maybe -5 but have had zero problems starting up in 3 years.  I bought the Lite 6" this year, hoping to shed some weight and still have Jiffy performance.

I have a question about the amount of oil to add.  The owners manual says to "Add 3 oz" and the unit came with a 3 oz. bottle.  I went to the Jiffy website and they say to add 6 oz.?  Should I go out and buy the extra 3 oz.? This is brand new, out of the box and I certainly don't want to do anything wrong.

Never mind :)  I watched the video on the Jiffy site and they absolutely call for the 3 oz. that came with the unit.

Reading this thread and watching some Youtube just convinced me to put my order for one into L&M.  I thought they were out of my price range before reading this thread.  Thanks!!

6oz for the pro 4, 3oz for the pro 4 lite

I hope it does well. I just took mine out of the box. Started up on 5 pulls. Pretty excited to get some ice, hopefully soon.

When I started mine up I noticed that the auger shaft kept spinning, even when the throttle was in neutral. It was spinning on the cover in the grass so I don't know if it will be ok when I actually get to use it on the ice.

Get some silicone lubricant and lube it up around the cable and the cable. Silicone won't freeze.
