Next 5 days look GREAT with lows in the low teens in SE MI..... I have some docks that are over some deeper water I might try this weekend.... 1/4 inch of ice and I am ice fishing from the docks LOL plus it is in a canal so protected from wind

Any predictions of real ice ??

I was out in Cass county this morning, ice on some ponds,channels, and canals. surface temp of chain lake was 34. I hope they are wrong about the warm up too.

Were getting alot of snow here in kalamazoo. A warm day wouldn't hurt my feelings as long as it geta cold again after the snow melts lol

about 6 or 7 years ago, before I opted out of the holidays, I was fishing on a pond Thanksgiving day. Possibly by the end of the week or whenever the ice will hold me for this year. Large mouth bass through the ice Chico

Last year I was on 4" November 26th but a warmup later that day and the next few dampened my next visit. As of last friday, a lot of the local deeper lakes were still steaming with the cold front. Water temps need to cool a bit still but a few canals and shallow lakes are skimming over the last 2 days. I will predict December 5th at this rate. But only a few select early ice locations.

Talked with a friend from Moose Lake Minnesota and he said they are already fishing. Amazing to be already fishing by the middle of November

a day or 2 after xmas seems to be the yearly deal for me here in Allegan county.im talking 5 inches of ice.ive gotten older/wiser and heavier for the 2 to 3 inches of sketchy ice deal anymore.haha

Went by lake Missaukee this morning and it was froze all the way across with a light dusting of snow on it. Many years ago when I lived in Allegan county I went with my uncle to Eagle lake on Thanksgiving day and there was 6 inches of ice

last year I fished on the Muskegon river ( tucked in a cove) on 2" of ice on thanks giving morning... sure hope I can do the same this year......... soooooooo ready...

good luck bud.hopefully some snow melt will work in your favor.suppose to warm up a little with a chance of some rain.sounds like perfect steelhead weather.

Im pretty sure I could fish a small, shallow pond Friday, unfortunately I think all the fish died last winter.

Guys have been on the channels here in Northern Indiana for the past couple of days. I'll be waiting. This weekend may take away anything that got started anyways. Guys that have got out don't have good reports either. I don't even think the fish are ready for ice season
