Any reports on ice thickness yet?

I love fishing as much as anyone but I also know risking your life for a fish or two is ridiculous. I've never understood why guys take chances like they do at first ice. Walking out is fine, but people always push it with vehicles driving onto the ice as soon as it locks up.

Be careful everyone, let's all have a safe ice season!

That was yesterday . I seen a couple trucks driving along the shore then head straight out to where they wanted to fish. I pulled my one shack out with my side x side. I had the only shack out on Indian point as of yesterday.

What's the word on ice thickness? Thinking of taking the shack out this weekend if it's more than a foot or so of good ice.

Was up from the 21st-23rd fishing with three of my good buddies we fished in front of the marina at sunset in 12-22 feet of water. We had 6 tip ups out and only got two 1 pound pike in 2 full days of fishing. Had the marcum camera set up in the shack and only seen one tiny pike the whole time. Very very slow fishing, worst ive ever seen it there. There is 16 inches of solid good ice, had 3 trucks parked closw together with a shack, no problem.
