trappaing bait

Hey just a quick question guys. DO you let your trap sink all the way down or do you try and suspend it off the bottom? I think im going to try and suspend it a little bit, instead of right on bottom? Thanks

Right on bottom. Is it a pond or a stream ? If you suspend it you will have to use a bouy or maybe now a stick on the ice and people will see this and steal your trap. I don't know why it is but people love to steal minnow traps.
