Pak shack
« on: Nov 15, 2014, 08:50 PM »
I have been looking for a inexpensive portable ice shantie and came across this Pakistan shack. I read that the one man does not have a door. It needs to be flipped over you. I might be able to cut the fabric and install  a zipper door. The only problem is it seems that they have been discontinued. Is this true? If not where can i find one?

I used to own one. You wouldnt want to make a door in one anyways. Trust me. The thing would blow over in 5mph wind if your not sitting in the chair with it set up. They are ok but the hinges that hold the tent are a weak point. I had to fix mine several times with trips to the hardware store. If it was even slightly windy, the entire structure was just too flimsy to be usable. The material is the same as any tent. They do serve a purpose and was nice for a lightweight easily packable 1 man, just not on a windy day. I sold mine for like $40 on craigslist a couple years ago. Try there. Good luck

If you want something inexpensive you could go with a Shappell flip sider FX150. Those come with a zipper front door.

May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.
