Hey all, Took the day off Thursday and I am gonna try farther west then I usually travel on the "Big O". I'm gonna walk out of Taft I think, and see what I see. Seems my end of the lake is not producing for me all that well so far, its been ok, but not like I am used to, so I figure I can scout a little bit and enjoy the quiet.

anything to crazy I should know that way? I see some gas holes posted on my navonics, but plan to stay clear. I've only fished out that way a few times in the last few years. I will be walking, so hoping not to travel 50 miles. if ya see a bearded blue suiter in a frabill commando that'll be me staying warm and hopefully catching a fish or two.
Oh, any secret spots may be messaged to me in advance, thank you.... JK.
I think, therefore I fish....

This is one of the greatest thing about fourum like this is to educate peoples. It's getting harder for the newcomer to learn because of the way our society functions.

Wanton waste of our fisheries is just stupid.

Here is an article on barometric pressure and its affect on fish, thought it might help some.

Ice anywhere from 10 to 15 inches thick......right now glare ice with spots of packed drifted snow.....creepers a must.....anywhere is good access except extreme east end near amusement park( large ice heeves making access hard).....other spots to my knowledge ok....

Welcome to the jungle Johnnyb44,cool pics ice addict.Wednesdays report ...fished out of Taft  started in 25ft had fish in my first hole before I was even in the water...Never connected though.Made half a dozen moves ended up in 40ft,never had many marks but would say the 40ft range was the best .Ended up catching 6 perch only kept 2  big ones and 2 eyes 1 was short.Long periods of dead screen, fished from 8 to 2 30 .

anybody need any poles or hubs for quickfish3, mine lasted 8 trips, the brass ring that holds the eye in on the side came apart and fell  through the side, along with all 4 poles! I called them and talked to a tech , we discussed how to fix it and came up with it cant be fixed, he did tell me next time something like this happens to call???? I said I am calling!!and that was about the end of the phone call! so I have 20 or so poles and 5 hubs that have slight use . I have heard that they have great customer service , LOL . I would have to disagree .
That sucks - I would call back, hoping to get a different tech and someone that might just send a replacement.
