Thanks Bart and Filet, I'll check out Ingles I saw their website and they have a ton of sleds there.

As for scratchers is that normally on the sled or something to buy aftermarket?  I haven't been on a sled in probably 20 years to be honest.

Scratchers are available through the dealer as an add-on.  If you're handy there is quite a selection on ebay.  I have that coming up on my to-do list myself ;)

Thanks RTX guy!

As for fan cooled whats the major benefit of this over liquid cooled, again pardon my ignorance on the subject its been a long time since I was around sleds

Liquid cooled sled depends upon loose snow kicked up onto the heat exchangers for cooling.  Fan uses forced air from an engine operated fan for cooling.

Any sled needs some loose snow to lubricate the slide rails.  That's where the scratchers come in.

Scratchers dig in and kick snow and ice chips up onto the slide rails.  Some of those chips also end up on the heat exchangers and that helps when the conditions are marginal for a liquid cooled sled.

I just bought a liquid cooled sled because the deal was really good, but, I also have a wheeler for when conditions are glare ice or super hard pack.

Hope this info helps you.

There was a good post on here last year that showed how to make scratchers using a hay rake fork. It was really simple, they bolt to the skis and can be pulled up easily when not in use. My sled is a fan but I made a set to keep the sliders cool, I think they cost less than 20 bucks to make.  They really seemed to kick up the ice pretty well.  If ever figure out how to post a pic I put it on here, or maybe it's still in the equipment section?

Those are pretty nice one's Bart, I've been eyeing a set of those for my liquid cooled sled.

For ice fishing I think fan is the way too go for a variety of reasons.  They don't require much snow unless you have a deeper track, they're lighter and you don't need a whole lot of power to tow a shanty around.  It is generally cool down near the ice so even on warm days temperature isn't really an issue.

Nothing against liquids just have to pay more attention to conditions or they can overheat or melt sliders

Right on RTX, I have a liquid for the simple fact that it was a good deal, but if it's a long run down the lake to the grounds I'm fishing I get a little nervous if it's bare ice, always looking for that snow to keep blowing on the coolers.  When it comes time to purchase a replacement fan cooled is the way to go for fishing

I really like my Tundra good on fuel and plenty of power , all it is used for is ice and running my grandson around , and reverse is easy on a bad back and is quite light , wish I would have put electric start on it though , wife can't can't pull start it ,maybe that's not a bad thing lol

From the past posts that Bart has put up of pictures of his sled, that is about as good as you can get. As for me, I basically am a newbie even though I have owned a Polaris for 4 years now. I have a brand new set of scratchers just sitting on my workbench waiting for the past year to go on. One of these days, I will get the courage to drill a hole or two and stick them on some place.  One word of advise, stay clear of ethanol gas. Drained quite a bit of water out of the carbs last year when she started to run ruff.
