ICE ICE ICE
« on: Nov 12, 2014, 09:06 AM »
well, punched a few holes yesterday and things are looking good!  Didnt drop a line, but drove around to a few lakes and was surprised with my findings... chickakoo had a solid 2" of ice all the way across, but Gerharts Lake less than a mile away was still open water.  Big Lake was another lake i stopped at, and although i didnt drill any holes, someone had already shovelled off an oval and were skating around!  Seemed a little sketch to me, but I will be out there to drill a hole and check the ice.  Good luck and be safe this early in the season.

I'll let you know degasvegas.  Might be a few other lakes in the general vacinity I want to check out.  As long as I've got 2-3" of ice I am happy to walk on.

Was at Lac la Nonne yesterday and not even close yet, still open water.   I haven't checked any of the smaller lakes or ponds.

looks like ill be sticking to the much smaller lakes for now... If Lac la Nonne isnt frozen Lac Ste Anne, Wab, Chip, Buck definitely wont be.  But I have a few gems I can try out in the mean time!   ::)
