lake trout tips

I'm stoked about this coming hard water season. planning to catch my first laker.I could really use some advice on how to catch them. bates presentation. what would be some good spots on thee kenai peninsula

Hidden lake can be good find the drop offs.... The first point on the left from the boat launch is a decent spot to start. It'll probly be awhile before you get reliable ice though.

Not from my experience or that of anyone I know. There are fish but nothing big. Last year it never did freeze over either.
You pretty much need a snowmobile to fish it as well.
I would try Hidden or Skilak if/when they get safe ice.

Kenai lake is another good option for lakers. I had forgotten about that one.Thanks akdube!
I believe Trail Lakes closer to Seward has lake trout as as well if I remember correctly but I struck out the one and only time I tried there.
Maybe you can ask some locals from Moose pass or Seward for more info on that one.

I've fished Kenai & Skilak for lakers. They are there.
Why do I always leave shrimp in my pocket from last week?

thanks fellas that helps lot of the people I've talked to around here semi to be pretty tight lipped about were to fish
