Starting this thur we have 5 nights of lows below freezing, and mid next week highs below freezing. that should help cool down the water a little bit.

The weather channel app says the 11th through 17th to be really cold for this time of year. Barely above freezing for highs, things will look different next weekend if the temps are correct.

If the forecast holds true. I'll be on the ice Thanksgiving somewhere in Dickinson county again this year!! A buddies pond has already skimmed over twice this fall so it's not far off!

If forecast holds true there will be ice on the small ponds in a week or so. Highs below freezing next week.

I've been on brushy by 12-10 most every year for the past nine. I hit a borrow pit alongside the interstate by there last year on 11/24. I'm guessing it'll be the same this year

Cherokee county: all small creeks are frozen and the river has ice on the edges. Small protected ponds have skim ice.
Dickinson county: upper gar has skim ice
Buena vista county: little storm lake has skim ice on edges. Small protected pond have up to 1" of ice in protected areas.

I hope ur right. I'm in decorah for work this week and it is chilly. Hopin this wind will die down soon so we can get a good build going.

Grade and Templar is iced over on Big Spirit. Upper east is iced over. Won't be long. Probably see some guys out this weekend. All my gear is 100 miles away otherwise id be out Friday.

I'm in Sac County and I'm hoping to be on my favorite two farm ponds before Thanksgiving. But lookin at the extended forecast, we have a warm up into the upper forties and lower fifties near that time.

small ponds here south of Des Moines are skinned over or edges starting starting to freeze. Even the Racoon river had ice in a cove

10 degrees tonight and light wind will help...

Seen a few portables out at the grade on Big Spirit. I would guess it's 3-4 by now maybe more with these single digit lows.
