Moose fight until death-locked antlers
« on: Oct 28, 2014, 11:30 AM »
This happened recently in the Western Maine area.  They were duck hunting and came upon these two moose submerged in a body of water.  These two bull moose appeared to have been fighting, they locked antlers and unfortunately they both drowned.  Wardens were called and they removed the moose from the waters and kept the heads with their locked antlers

Be careful how you use your antler @)

A friend of mine just told me about this a couple days ago, he had something to do with the retrieval. He also said the smell was almost overpowering

I can more than just imagine.  Many years ago we found a bloated beaver in the river (didn't know it was a beaver at first).  Smell was awful but then we wanted to see what it was so we rolled it over with a stick and the damn thing split open.

The smell was as bad or even worse than a rendering plant.
