Hoping the week prior to Thanksgiving.  That's when I was out perch fishing for the first time last year. And the bite was on!

I'll never release the location of my early ice spot, it's too small but I will say it's not in Saratoga but I was on Saratoga Lake last year one of the earliest I've been

Understandable I could never release mine either its only got room for maybe 4 or 5 people

Heck, I'll take a few shots.  These are based on what I would consider safe ice for me:
- 12/16 for the Buffalo Small Boat Harbor
- 12/28 for Silver Lake near Mack's
- 1/2 for Chautauqua (at Mayville)

No scientific method involved, just complete guesses.
