GoPro for scouting?!?
« on: Oct 25, 2014, 09:15 AM »
Was watching some videos online and had the idea to take a gopro and attach it to the end of a pole and add a flashlight to the other side. At the very least it be cool to check out structure. Thinking about picking one up now. :) Plus now you can look at footage right away by hooking up to them wirelessly. Be kinda cool to when you are seeing fish on the flasher but their not biting, could sneak the pole down and see what the heck is down there!

Just an fyi you can not use the wireless functions while the camera is underwater. The wifi won't transmit through the water. They are great little cameras and I love mine. Allows you to capture what your doing without really noticing that you have a camera strapped to you.

I have a GoPro, would not recommend it for what you are suggesting.  You can get a real nice underwater camera for the price of a GPro and the accessories you would need.
