Date: Saturday April 11 2015
Location: VFW, 588 Minot Ave Auburn ME
Cost: $20 adults, under 15 free. Tickets purchased at the door.
Time: 5pm-9pm

This Banquet will happen regardless of funds raised. Dag's is footing the entire bill up front. We are hoping to recoup most of the cost with ticket sales. Each ticket purchased will come with a $20 gift bag and IF there is any money left over we will have some shelters and augers for door prizes.

I want to remind everyone that this is a family event. Since Iv'e been going to the banquet they have been great, but I have herd some stories about the party it used to be back in the day. There will be drinking but lets keep it in check and keep the language clean or at least quit.

The banquet is something we all looked forward to and it was a disappointment for it to not happen last year. last year it was the funds that were lacking so Dag's is going to make sure that is taken care of. This is a big undertaking and we at Dag's hope to not put in all the effort. I'm hoping this banquet operates like all the other ones did and that the same people whom helped out in the past will do so again. Dag's is willing to help out on the trophies for a 2015 IFOY but I am hoping that someone else will keep score on the IFOY. Trophies can get awfully expensive, Another option in lieu of trophies would be more prizes to those winners, or a blend with trophies for overall placing and a ribbon and prize for class placing. This thread is going to blow up and expand as time goes on so I'm we will figure it all out as we go.

. Dylan you and your dad go above and beyond to provide great service to the fishing community in the state of Maine. I have friends who live in East Lebanon and vacationed in the Wells's area. Next time I get to Maine will definitely have to make a trip to your shop ,it will be an honor to meet both of you.

To all members of Team Maine get behind Dag's and make the 2015 banquet a special one. Members of Ice Shanty from other areas look up to your level of organization .(The banquet, IFOY tournament and Moosehead lake trip) Since becoming a member I've seen an increase in other states having on-ice gatherings and events. Do not let what you have slip away.

Don't worry so much about purchasing tickets right now, there is still plenty of time to worry about that. We still have to decide if there will be an early purchase incentive. At the very least we will be accepting cash @ the door.

I think an early purchase incentive wouldn’t hurt. I think, too, that those that are supporters and friends here will make an effort to show up as time and distance allow. I will plan to come and will contribute somehow in any case. I think showing up is the best support. Wish it was in Ellsworth

This is awesome. I'm glad I found this thread as I made my way back to the shanty in anticipation of this season!

I'll throw in my hat to help out (or do) the tracking for IFOY. (But does that mean I couldn't enter myself? Not sure on the rules for that, but since each picture is posted I don't think it's a conflict since someone could easily verify my fish).

Those that haven't been it always was a blast. I know I met some very wonderful people at the ones I attended. Those friendships last for ever. Plus you will learn the misconception of some of the screen names to the people. Very funny at times. Thank you Dags for stepping up.

Originally I had said that you had to be paying this year to get a gift bag, but I ended up making so many and the attendance looks a little short so everyone going gets one, kids to.

Due to some kind of rule or law we will not be charging an entrance fee for the banquet. Instead we will be selling gift bags for $20 at the door. If you payed last year your gift bag is free, if your a 'kid" than its $5. At the end of the banquet any extra gift bags can be purchased for $20.

If we get 25+ adults we will give away a shappell s3000 cabin style portable shelter. can't find the s3000, gonna make it a s2000
If we get 32+ adults we will give away a refurbished generation 2, 10" Jiffy pro 4 propane auger.
If we get 45+ adults we will give both away.
