Oct. 11th Prospect Trip Grayling Extravaganza!!!

And so it begins...









Went to survey the ice at our usual starter lake of the year on Saturday and we were pumped to find enough decent ice to get out and wet a hook. Must have C&R at least 50 grayling, and even took a few home for the pan.  Ice was 3"-4" mostly rotted so nobody was getting any closeups, but it was plenty firm to venture out into fishable water.  Probably would have been better if we'd gone earlier in the week since the weekend was hot, but still a new PB and great to start the season.  I'm already planning to get back out later in the week and see if I can add a couple more species to the list before heading South to slay some deer.

Great stuff man!  I'm going to look for some ice in the lower 48 tomorrow.  It'll be a few weeks before my grayling spot is ready.
