Ok ice-Heads! It's that time of year once again and Pro Tackle Outfitters is excited to announce our:
Second annual Ice-Fishing Clinic featuring Dan Johnston from the St Croix Rod company



Dan has been providing ice anglers all over the northern territories with great ideas on methods,strategies, and presentation. We are pretty stoked to have the chance to bring him here to NE Indiana.

This time around our clinic will include various techniques on spring-bobber fishing with emphasis on technique as well as rod action and the lines we use to be productive on the ice.
  Dan is a pretty big fan of Tungsten ice jigs and will be talking about the many attributes of ice-jig strategy. Safety, of course, will be on the agenda!
  Electronics will be a key subject during the seminar and this will be an open format for anyone to pose questions on any and all subjects!


Pro Tackle Outfitters invites all Ice Shanty members to this free event and once again..free pizza! So come by…enjoy!

Ok..so..I have rented chairs this time..Pizza is on order..Frantically assembling shanties...Bricker Bugs are in stock..Tungsten Jigs are replenished..Striker Brand ice suits are ready to be fitted..In-Line reels are all over the place..FLX28's are here..Ice-fly tying materials on display..What am I forgetting??

Hey Paul, I'm in the same boat as you.  Logansport is so friggin far from everywhere.  You have to make a day trip just to go shopping.  No decent sporting goods shops near here either.  Only store I've found that even resembles a store is Gander Mountain in Lafayette.  And they aren't really all that great either.  They tend to be a little pricey if you know what I mean.  There used to be a Sportsman Store down there but they went out of business a while back.  Good thing I've got a computer.  But I like walking through a store and checking out the fishing rods and "feel" them if you know what I mean.  And Walmart sells you what they want to sell you, not what you need.  Maybe some day I'll talk the wife into heading up to Ft. Wayne and checking out this Pro Tackle Outfitters.  And the nearest Cabela's is up northwest of me around the Gary area, I think.  Just that I have to travel 2 hours or more just to get to a decent store.
