Ya its getting close now... Was thinking yesterday how its been 3 yrs since TGF left us  :(

Ive been out in my yard a couple nights this week when its been raining, collecting dew worms. Got about 100 in a tote half filled with dirt. They lasted great for months in there last year.. Dozen dew worms last year were a lil over $5 at the gas stations, not sure if they will be going up anymore but 100 or so should be lots, some real fatties too- i see big brookies in the near future   ;D

When I lived in Ontario I had a custom built worm farm @ the house.
It was a box 3' long 18" deep and 18" high made of plywood. It had a pair of old speaker grills on the lid for ventilation and it was filled 3/4 full with commercial worm bedding. Once a month I would sprinkle some worm food on the top of the bedding.
Had somewhere in the order of 1000 worms in there and they lasted for years.  ;)

wow, could do a lil commercial selling of them hehe..
i think its a good idea to stock pile a bunch, last years worked out great, tho i had to hunt around in the dirt to find them sometimes, especially later in the season..

This morning I got a not so subtle reminder that sweeping the truck off still sucks... winter comes eventually and I am pretty stoked to join in on the derby fun this year :)

got me a new ice fishing truck, now i can actually go more often.

the beast (for close to home use now)
gas was 30$ for 60-70kms. wasnt unusual to spend 400$ gas per ice fishing trip

the new one

just bought a few LED lightbars, a locker, and new studded snow tires for it. 25-30MPG 4x4!

Did postal just drop it off at your door step and someone could have stolen it? Ive seen them drop parcels like good/expensive stuff and just leave.

Chiming in from the Okanagan ;)  Man it feels good to open up I.S. and see there's already activity!  It'll be awhile before there's ice around here so in the meantime I'll look forward to reading posts from you folks up in the NWT and northern BC.  Cheers to the beginning of another season.  Stay safe and good luck :)

The low in merritt is suppose to be -10 for a couple of days starting Tuesday.  That will probably be -15 or so where most of the lakes are.  I bet in two weeks we might see some ice around here i am hoping.  You might have to make the trip up!!
