...But will you actually go over there? I had to make that trip from Boise by myself last year  ;)

Teaser from last November. Can't wait for ice.

Maybe so. We'll see how November goes. Would be fun though. Even a blind squirrel could catch fish at Henry's Lake during first ice.

Until then:

I hope the ice fishing season is better than the open water season has been . This is the worst season I have ever seen .

That's too bad Curt. I'm certain you'll be out on the ice enough to figure em out again this winter.  :)

Curt I seen the post about the water temperature, Do ya think with all the seismic activity some warm water is finding its way in there ? I sure hope it better planning on making the trip soon as there is safe ice  ;D

Water temperature is not the problem . This has been the coldest year on record . In August we received 5.2 inches of water , and the high temperature was 64 degrees . The water temperature on August 28 was 58 degrees and the lake is 95  percent and raising . I will be on the ice everyday the wind is below 15 mph . Last year the wind was very bad .

From Goose Bay back to the dam will have safe ice 1 week before the main lake . It always does . I will post when there is safe ice and where . This will make some people mad because they like to have early ice to themselves .

If you can make it up before it freezes , I think you will do real well . I have been receiving good reports from people that are trolling and bait fishing .

Keep us in the loop, Curt. I'll have to make a road trip west instead of east this year.  :)

Snotel site, location White Elephant (near Henry's) shows average daily temps of 32 degrees or less and a max temp of 35 degrees over the last 4 days.  Won't be long for you EI guys.

When are you guys typically on ice at Henry's? Last year I think I was on it (5 inches) the 3rd week of November. Would like to go back  ;)

Earliest I've personally been on it is the day after Thanksgiving, but I know others are often on it earlier.  I'd check out Goose Bay for first ice.
