DIY portable case for fishfinders

Looking for ideas to make a portable case to use while ice fishing.  Anyone have experience with this?  I am using an elite 5x

I dont know how big that fish finder is but I see a few guys using ammo boxes not the military ones the plastic ones that you can get at the big box stores fairly cheap

I used a soft cooler for my Lowrance unit, cut a piece of plywood for the bottom, has worked good for last two years.

Perfect thanks for the threads,  I am thinking my best option would be the soft cooler with a cut-out to fasten the mount to.

I have a 5 and I have it in the blue case by lowrance , little pricey , caught mine on sale
and one I made for my vex but would also work
