Southeast part of the state
« on: Sep 20, 2014, 09:53 AM »
Just wondering who from South Dakota is from/fishes the southeast part of the state? By southeast I mean south of I-90. If you do, you know there's not a whole lot of options in this part of the state. Figured I'd start a post to share some tips about the lakes (or lack there of) around here. Let's here what you got!

The SD Reports and Conditions forum has a ton of lake info on it. You can also go back a number of years  in the Archive forum as well. If there is enough interest in certain lakes that are not listed, we can add them too.

Yeah I've read through them all lol I'm just trying to get some of the fisherman from the area and see what everyone suggests/is doing. Basically trying to get a little more activity going on the fishing reports and what not in the area.

Not too far from ya rags. I'm about 2 blocks away from a bluff on the Missouri river over here! We might have to meet up on one of our trophy producing lakes around here sometime! lol

Four wheeler is on the wish list for next year. Gonna be pulling the shack for another season for sure. Thought about snowmobile but with a 4 wheeler I'll have year round use with it and we haven't gotten a whole lot of snow around here for years. Atleast nothing that a 4 wheeler can't handle.

I got a tip on a smaller lake loaded with gills in the 6 to 10 inch range and crappies in the 8 to 12 , gonna go fish it with the boat this fall to see if their measurements are correct :)

That would be awesome if it pans out. Figuring on trying anything and everything I can find in the area this year. Might have a lead on a stock dam with gills and crappies in it that's never been fished before. Hopefully that one is true also lol

They dredged out the marina here last fall and this summer. I had high hopes of being able to drive a mile and get on ice with something under it but from what I've been hearing they didn't get there money's worth out of it. I guess they didn't dredge anywhere near what they claimed they were going to so we'll see how that goes. Probably another year of driving 30 miles for ice haha

Haven't been out myself but last I heard it was pretty slow around here lately. I would think the fall bite would be starting pretty soon though. If I hear anything I'll let ya know.
