I've got some large premium baits to target the elusive Alberta Ice Wombat!!

Looking forward to hitting the ice with you in about a month bud. Early ice Walters are the way to go, throw in a few Jumba Poich and you may have to take a few home for supper.

Good luck to everyone this year; as always please be safe on the ice in the early season.

Look forward to another season of banter and shenanigans the fisherman guy.

thing is, when I go fishing, I just want to catch something. don't care what it is. bass, crappie, perch, pickerel...great.  blue gills...when I get desperate, unless they like 9" +.  I've caught 10" shiners and eels thru the ice.

I think this year I'm going to try and focus on walleyes and whites on pigeon. I know whites are in that lake - just got to find a way to hit em this year.

Always head to the high country as those lakes freeze first. That also means generally trout. Any species of trout is fine with me they are so admirable.
Hell, if I'd jumped on all the dames I'm supposed to have jumped on, I'd have had no time to go fishing.

You guys are starting the rant early this year... good for you!!  ;D
Welcome back everyone and I'm looking forwards to another great season on the ice.

I saved my Pigeon 2 over 50 cm walleye tags for early December this year.  I'm sure hoping that pays off first.  Fresh large walleye caught at first ice....can't wait!

After that, opening weekend at Gull for crazy whites.

SloughShark, that idea of your's just might have to beat out the wallies as the first...it has me thinking.

Come on Snap, nothing beats out wallies............any time LOL

PIKE, first and all season long.  I'm a catch and release kind of guy so the only reason I ever target anything else is for derby prize money  :flex:
It's like tailgating with the possibility of catching a fish!

I agree, I think we're on the hard water on some of the smaller lakes by Nov 15 if the cold keeps up.
