What's on the gear wishlist?
« on: Sep 01, 2014, 07:30 PM »
Well ice season is getting closer every day and I cannot wait to hit the hardwater. Just curious as to see what everybody is planning on getting for the ice. My big purchases this year will be a good pair of winter boots cause pac boots get cold fast... Also getting a thermal tent for the shanty to stay warmer and also want to get a straight line combo cause I fell in love with big 'gills and slabs through the ice last season. Can't wait!!!

New boots nd a new power auger. All the meteorologists are predicting a winter similar or colder than last . I got tired of drilling 20 Inches of ice w/ a hand auger. I Sure hope they're predictions are correct.

Just put in an order with Santa (the girlfriend) for an arctic shield bib and jacket set. I told her it would double for ice fishing as well as snowmobiling, so here's hoping! I have arctic shield bibs now and I love em! Maybe I should tell her how sweet an LX7 would be compared to the FL8   :woot:  But that might be pushing it....

So far on my list is more jigs, a new set of bibs, and maybe a pair of Mickey Mouse boots if I could ever find a new/unused pair in size 14 for a reasonable price.

I let Santa (aka, my Bride) know I was in the market for a Go Pro. Can't think of another thing I need for ice fishing. Of course, NEED has nothing to do with it. Headed to Cabelas tomorrow. I'm betting I find some thing I can't live another minute without :-\

I was wrong. I didn't spend a dime except $6.60 in tolls :-\

Not one ice fishing item out. Pretty decent fly tying selection.
Disappointing! That's about all I can say.

I went to Bass pro in Auburn the other day abd there was nothing out yet either. They said end of October. It was like 80 out, I'm in there in sandles and shorts asking about ice fishing gear.

Yup, buffalo.
Lots of yuppie clothes. Like $75 sport  shirts made in Bangladesh. I'd go to bass pro in Auburn before making another trip to cabelas.

Maybe the new Bass pro in Victor will be better.......when it gets built :-\

Till then, I'll order online.

Well had an LX7 on the list until I bought it last week lol otherwise I'm gonna get a new pair of Muck Arctic Pros and hopefully an Otter Rod Case. I'd really like to get a new pair of bib's but thinking those are going to have to wait until next year which is alright. My feet were the only thing that got cold last year so I need to get that taken care of before ice.

Gonna get a flasher this season, 10 years without one and I am going to finally pop on one.  Looking at the Marcum VX-1 Pro, dont want to spend to much in case I dont like fishing with it.  Other than that, I am going to build a Smitty sled.

I got the VX-1P last season and it worked great for me. I can't see myself upgrading until it dies. For the money you can't beat it. I did have troubles with the motor burning out but MarCum was fairly easy to deal with and took care of it. I'm going to build a smitty sled too. I've got 6 pairs of XC skis in the basement that haven't been touched in years...  ;)

There's an lx7 on my wish list. I'm tired of stealing my buddy's showdown time to get my own.

Big Ice Castle and a pair of Polaris RZRs... I mean it is a "wish" list, right? Seriously though, a flasher is on the list this winter.

Driveable ice by early December.  Strike master parka to go with my bibs to match. Some more tip ups and lots of time to do mods to my gear before the ice shows up.
