Now THIS is what I call a shanty!!!
« on: Aug 30, 2014, 12:38 AM »
Been browsing on new ice gear for the season and came across this CLAM video for their latest shanty and WOW!!!!  :o

I would totally buy it if I wasn't on a ramen-noodle-every-night-budget.  ;)

Looks pretty awesome! Only problem is it's from Clam. Not arguing their quality but  their prices get pretty crazy so I can only imagine how much this would be lol

$10,000 stripped and that's without a rear door to load your wheeler.
$18,000 loaded and you can get air conditioning.

18k!? Wow, aside from the hydro axle you could trick out a sweet trailer like that. 3-4k for a 6x12 enclosed trailer with ramp and side door, insulation/paneling/2 burner propane stove and inverter can't be more than another 2k or so. Unless it's all Aluminum I think it's very expensive!

Really looks like a great fish house bit high, but they at least  they  start with a good base with the spray foam insulation!! thats a big major plus comparing to the rest. have to compare apple to apples for the rest of the options. might be close but a Superior house. to most.

the house is ALL ALUMINUM. the floor is 3/4" plywood with a 1 1/2" of spray foam under it. the walls have 1" of spray foam.  the hydraulic system is inside the house so there is less chance of freezing. the house weighs in at 1500 lbs for the base model and 2100 LBS for the fully loaded model. size is 6' X 12'.

Come up to my neck of the woods! One of my buddies bought a house last year and with his trade in of a $9,000 Ice Castle, he still owed $25,000... You can do the math on the final cost..  Here is a video of it:

Lets just say that there have been some pretty raging evenings in that shack!

That looks a lot like a Zack Shack but with Clam selling it I bet the price is even higher.  It's nice but I wonder how nice or should I say not nice the price is for one of them.

I can tell you this "It is NOT from  Zach Shack". the only thing I can say is that they are made in the metro area and are not from any of the major hard sided fish house manufacturers. Clam contracted with a shop to produces these. the idea of for this house has been in the works for years and Clam finally decided it was time to enter the hard sided fish house market. as for price the base model (unfinished inside) is $9,999.00

Yes we do. I have added cupboards and a counter top in the front. An A/C unit to the roof with the heat option. Epoxied the floor and painted the walls. Works quite well for a family of 4.
