I can see why this would be really convenient.
I wonder though how sensitive it is to large weeds higher in the water column screwing with actual depth.  I suppose gain could get rid of a lot of error...
I hope MarCum comes out with one for my VX1.

Got one last year and hooked it up to my11 yoa face lifted FL 18...I love it ...no mater what depth setting you have it on reads just the same no adjustment needed ...not certain if the gain setting adjustment tunes it in or out as I never messed with it ..wish my buddies would get one ...they never can read their flasher depth ...be nice for searching for drop offs if they did

This is why you buy a Lowrance, you don't need an add on to get a digital depth read out.

Does that still allow you to see your battery percentage?

Purchased one last spring for my FL 20. Some accessories are necessary to have others are more fun to have. This is the latter but I dont regret getting it. Sure makes the depth easier to see without worring about which scale you are on etc. They were about $50 last year. One plus is that if you have an older model Vex with out a digital battery readout, this comes with one. These are about $25 purchased alone!!  A little light rewiring required. I used the "piggy back" to the postive terminal and works fine.

AHhh...... yes, hole hopping. Did that yesterday for brookies and I can see where it would make things a bit easier.
Missoulafish, do you need to change depth range for the digital to sense the difference, or does it always read bottom no matter what the flasher range is set on?

That is a great question. I don't know. I would hope you just dunk the ducer in the water and it would instantly tell you. That would be way more convinient.

Reads it automatically ... although they say it doesn't function properly on low power

My fl20 came with the dd100 and it works by turning the machine on. It will read...say...44' and then just switch the dial to that depth range. The downfall is when using low power, it doesn't read worth a darn. Right now I'm fishing 4.2' and dd says 70.4'!

What hardwater diehard said!  It's the add-on that I'd always hoped would be available for my FL-18!

I bought one late fall hoping to get out in the open water one more time.  No luck with my FL18 but it only took less than a minute to install it but not sure where to attach it to the blue Genz box.  I just wired it to the handle-should work fine but anxious to see it work.

It wouldn't work to mount it on the flat part behind the head unit w/screws ? Is there not enough room ? I got to hook one up to my buddy's blue box before the season starts ...

As you can see, I'm low power and flasher shows bottom just over 4'. Look at the DD and it says 70.4. Interesting...
