My opinion for whats its worth    (  i know not much  )  , if the fish is great enough to mount i have the taxidermist mount the lure i caught it with in its mount . So fish and lure are retired together forever . Then I replace that lure with several more of the exact same kind  .

That walleye was the only fish that jigging rapala ever caught took it out of the package that day and now it sits retired in the walleyes mouth

As a taxidermist myself for over 30 years doing competition mounts, be proud of this one.  Your taxidermist did an awesome job from what I can see.  Now you can only go up from this one.   :)
