Just moved into Southern Idaho

Although my name says Derrick NY, I am now a proud resident of Idaho. Looking forward to this season should be a exciting.

No kidding lol. I'm working at the Niagara Spring Hatchery, guys here are telling me I have to go 45 mins North or South to get on some solid ice. Kind of a bummer but hey I'll go any distance to get on some ice!

Where just about finished clipping 2 million steel head and by Wednesday they will all be in the outside raceways.
Now I keep hearing word of sturgeon fishing in these parts?!? Going to have to give that a try this weekend.

Welcome. I also just moved to ID (northern) from S.Dakota. I'll miss the ice there but excited for new areas. I'm already researching lakes.

Seems I did this once. Good luck on your new adventure. 

Idaho is a great state. Probably one of the coolest I've ever been to, let alone lived it. In the end though, SD was home and my parents missed their grand baby. (well, that and I missed roosters, walleyes, and flat, straight roads...)

Don't think you got rid of me though, I'll be back this winter a time or two... ;)

Congrats on the move to Idaho.  I lived outside of Boise for 27 years, then moved to Salt Lake.

As far as fishing goes, your location has it all.  Access to a ton of lakes, great fly fishing, close nearby states with also great outdoors (namely Wyo and Utah). 

The only downer is the wind.., but the open space makes up for it.

Hi. What part of NY are you from? I ice fished Lake Champlain and the North Country lakes for quite a few years.
