Got the itch yet?
« on: Aug 08, 2014, 10:17 PM »
How many fellow Wisconsinites are getting the itch to go ice fishing like I am? I don't know if it was from firing up the auger, charging the flasher batterys, or what. All I know is I'm ready for ice.  ;D

I've always got the itch to fish, but always have summer projects and not enough time. I think a good start would be for me to finish the wood pile before the cold comes. Everyday I walk by my auger and think about firing it up... I might just do it this weekend...  ;D

Well fellow itchers, I wish I could report better temps, but we're at 71-73 yet up here in Land O Lakes. Saving grace? Sugar Maples are beginning to turn.

I heard its pretty warm back at home. Im currently working in Montana. Saturday was high of 56 n they were calling for 3-5" of snow in the high rockies. Was getting excited. It was pretty disappointing when i called my wife and she said it was HOT outside in northern Wisconsin.

Every time I walk into the Garage I stare at the auger and portable shack sitting on the wall.  My wife yells at me when I talk about ice fishing already.......

I spend 2 hours out in my garage putting my tracks back on the ATV last weekend. When Mrs 52 came out and asked **censored** I was doing, I said I wanted to put them back on for ice fishing. "You expecting a turn in the weather I didn't know about??"

She gets my drive, but doesn't quite get the passion.

My buddies and I fished a musky tourny in St. Germain over the weekend. We fished by me on Palmer in Land O Lakes on Thursday and saw water temps about 58-59. By Sunday the water temps on Big St were 54ish and the lake was beginning to turn over. We had rain, sleet, snow mix all weekend and it was probably the worst weather I've Musky fished in.
