FNG from Wisconsin
« on: Jul 23, 2014, 08:06 AM »
Hola guys/gals,

I'm John from Waukesha and Land O Lakes, Wi. Been an ice fishing junky for decades, hell, I built my house up north for it.  I spend my open water season chasing walleyes, but turn to Musky when the season opens. Spend a majority of my open water time on our lake, Palmer/Tenderfoot, but 99% of the time on the ice over on the Cisco Chain.

I'm a Graphic Designer/Web Master by day, part time sales for Gander Mtn by night. Been with Gander for 14 years, 3 years as a national Pro Staffer fishing Musky Tournaments.

Looking forward to the season and being a member here.

Welcome John I see where your screen name comes from, a word of caution this website can be addicting especially when the majority of members have conditions that are right for ice fishing .

Welcome! Always good to have someone else pull up a bucket and join us. I do a lot of open water pike fishing, might have to hit you up for some Esox tips sometime.

What's your favorite lure style? Stick, spinnerbait, musky killer or cowgirl, giant grub......I use a lot of spinnerbaits for pike, keeps em off my line so I don't need a leader.

I usually don't pike fish in winter, the lake I'm on in Land O Lakes is notorious for hammer handles. I used to hit LOTW's quit a bit and have a fair share of 40"ers from up there. Musky? My favorites are walk the dog top waters and gliders. I'm also a big fan of jerk baits like Suicks.
