Landscaping in the northeast make open water fishing hard but i love ice fishing more anyway. In between snow storms I will be sitting on the ice. The temps at night make it feel like winter is close

Tomorrow is Sept. 1. Bow season only a month away. A nice distraction until first ice,  hopefully as early as last yr.

Agreed. I have some goals set I still need to fulfill this open water season. I'll fish until the ice won't let the boat through. Hunt ducks for a couple weeks and get on the ice.

HERE'S A thought a good bud go's ice fishing with 2-1/4in plywood each
about 2x2 he use's them on 1IN ICE to keep him on top[he is a small guy]
BUT NOT ME,what do you think,-- will you try it

I hate to wish the fall season away, especially with the wet and cool summer we had this year in wNY.  But I must admit that I'm anxiously anticipating the hard water season, hopefully coming in early January to Chautauqua Lake. Deer hunting first, however.

I guess I know the answer to my own question as the season will be closed. I had tiger muskies on my mind.
Anyways, can't wait for ice shanty to be hoppin again. MFF is dead...
