Morning all,
Another hot, hazy, humid one out there!!! At least we got some rain Monday, not the torrential downpours of late, but a couple steady showers that actually have time to soak in.
Glad to see the A1C numbers are looking good for you guys. Keep on doing what you're doing....it's working
The little fishing trip was a bust....1 eye 15" and a couple smallish perch  :-\ :'(  Just can't get it figured out this year for some reason. Grandkids are coming this weekend for a few days so maybe the fishing will have picked up in a couple weeks after they leave  ;D
Have a good day at work or play.....hydrate hydrate hydrate!!! And most importantly....stay safe.

Good Morning ER's had the alarm set to go off in another half hour, Day off and think I owe myself a morning in the boat.  See the who's online is picking up 10 users when I just looked.  Sure glad I don't have to mess with any gray stuff, especially in the heat.  Hope your package arrives soon Steve.  Hitting the lake alone, so think I will set up for trolling, and just relax.

One more days in mid 80's then down to the 70's is what is being guessed this morning. If it does cool off maybe I will feel like going fishing.

The wife called her DR. after we got home yesterday. He changed her to a different diabetic med. Hope fully it will help with her stomach problems. After all the test she has gone through with no answers other that one PA putting her on a diet that limits what she can eat to practically nothing.

Well trolling was a bust, no sooner get lines out had to bring them back in because of the floating weeds.  Finally gave up after an hour and went to jigging spots, only found small eyes and couple nice crappies  ;D Left when I see one of the launching ramps loaded up with jet skies, and wake boats  ::)

The chubby smallies were biting yesterday on the basin our camp is on.  Friend got a keeper walleye but threw it back ( magbe figured we'd get more?)  Lost the action on my lure, had a 4in smallie, haha, was as round as he was long.  Think they are gorging on crayfish.  Got maybe 8 more small walters and a few small pike between us.  Nice day overall.

IFF, we were dodging pontoon boats, they were out in full force!  Saw a site I don't think I'll ever see again!  There was a pontoon with about 8 amish guys on it.  Tried taking a pic but it was pretty far away and with the zoom I have to be pretty still.  There were ao many of them if one of them got a fish it would have been a tangled mess!!

Evening, Folks

Sunshine with passing clouds, upper 80's, a breeze, humidity at the make or break point, flash flood warnings posted till Friday evening, the heavy stuff Thursday late
     evening thru Friday afternoon

T.T. - Good job with the A1C

IFF - Your next in line with the A1C

RacDack - You must be using ungodly amounts of water on the plants ?

Mindy - When the Amish came to Pt. Pleasant on their annual fishing trip back in the late 90's, a 'Tangled Mess' is putting it mildly; you would have been rolling on deck
from laughter at the antics when one of them almost got bit by a 'saltwater piranha',(bluefish), when ever I see one of the deckhands I had for the boat, we still
     talk about it

Mason-WhopStop - How are you gents. holding up with the temps.? - You Too, Mworm ?

The H.O. tried to throw me a fast one today, when can I start the other upstairs bath; going to stain and poly coat the stairs, don't want any traffic for 4 days, started
tiling today, no work Friday for Dr.s Appts., should be ready for him late next week, he keeps saying how nice the job is coming out, just what I like to hear; The
sled was delivered today from Sportsmens Direct, will be playing with it this weekend, one thing is for sure, hyfax runners are needed

Be Safe - Hydrate - Have Fun
Now is the time for all good men and women to engage in the sport of ice fishing

Welcome jammer  to the 9:45 ever going thread!

Good morning early risers. I would like to publicly thank IFF(Bud) a while back he posted that all remaining ice fishing equipment was discounted 50% percent at the Gander Mtn. store where he is employed. I sent him a personal message with a list of tungsten jigs asking if he would purchase them for me his package arrived yesterday. I have received many favors from Ice shanty members this past year, now I will have to pay the kindness forward to others.
Whooper Stopper have a safe trip to WI. ,may all go well with your brother's surgery next week.
Mr.Turkey have you and the wife thought about getting an appointment with a doctor who specializes in the digestive trac/system. (I'll let our resident Nurse tell us all the proper name for these doctors) Your wife may have some problem that her medication is making worse hope you and the doctors can get things figured out.
Wallyworld may the next fishing trip be better enjoy the grandchildren visit.
Jammer Icecube welcome to the thread . You also stay healthy and be careful in the hot and humid weather.
Mindy glad you and your friend are having fun and catching some fish. Your words about the Amish remind of something I witnessed while on vacation down in Capt. Jim's area of NJ.  . Many towns/village/cities along the NJ. coast have boardwalks with small amusement parks/rides. I saw an Amish or Mennonite family enjoying a go-cart ride, did not have a camera on me so no picture/photo . (Please remember to be discrete when taking a photo or ask permission ,many Amish/Mennonites consider a photograph to be a Graven Image" and against one of the "Ten Commandments"  ,Like all religious groups there are more conservative and liberal members with the Old Order Amish being more conservative 0

Capt. Jim  good job keeping the H.O. happy it may lead to future jobs or referrals for you. Besides the Hyfax runners for your sled you might want to make your own from "Trex" decking material. If you do a search here on I.S. your will find posts by a Former member screen name of "Surf Lizard" he cut the trex to length and ripped it to the thickness he wanted ,angle cut the front edges to make slope of sled. (Surf Lizard had strong opinions so he had trouble complying with membership rules you will find the word "Guest" under his avatar)

Ice Wanderer I think you are correct about the weather guessers.

Have a safe and good day everyone take heed to Capt. Jim's word about hydration. Best to all fishing. PS. sorry to be so long winded today.
Steve

I noticed it had clouded up late yesterday after noon, so I went to close the car windows. It had cooled off so I decided to mow some of the lawn. I got a third of the front yard done before it started to rain. Only got a couple tenths but got me out of mowing LOL

MR C.  She has been their and done that. The wife has been through so many tests it is getting to her, that they an not come up with an answer. We spent 3 hours in a hospital lab with her blowing in a bag every hour on the hour last week looking for bacteria in her breath, coming from he stomach. I just hope her talking to my diabetes specialist and having her primary care doctor change her from metformin to another diabetic med is the answer. My doc gave her a print out showing all the side effects of metformin. A lot more on that print out than what comes from the pharmacy including her stomach issues. I carry a number of my Docs business cards in my wallet. I hand them out quite often but tell the person that unless they are gong to follow his suggestions to the T, not to bother him.

Capn I always liked the extras the HO's tried to get thrown in for the original bid. A little bit can get to be major $$ in short order.

I think Timber is getting mad at me for fishing so much!!  Got home last night and he had gotten into the trash and had a hunk of plastic stuck between two back teeth.  Took me 10 min to figure out what was wrong with him because he was snapping and gnashing his teeth together then clawing at his face.  Finally saw the issue then had to try and stick my fingers in his mouth without getting bit!!

Went to Fish Lk today (first for me) and picked up a crappie and nice fat gills I brought home.  Smallies, LM and pike biting too.  Nothing worthy of a pic.  Pretty lake, looked really "fishy."  Definitely will have to go back and hunt for some walters.  Finally got Sara to come along with her boyfriend!!

Going to pick some blueberries tomorrow morning, go to tbe Blueberry Festival downtown then the movies to see Ghostbusters.  I haven't been to the movies in a couple years!!

Fishing Saturday??  Possibly!!   ::)  Might have to bring Timber!!

Good Friday Morning Everyone,
66* on the Hill this am, high of 80 or so expected here today...extended forecast showing highs in the 70's for a few days starting Sunday.....finally a small break from the 90* crap!!
Mindy...nice job on the mixed bag of fish! Always nice trying out new water. Glad you found the problem with Timber and were able to get the plastic out without too much trouble. Good luck tomorrow if you make it out....hope you can find some Walters!
Marv...have a safe trip, best wishes sent for your brothers surgery. Hope all is well and you've been winning the battle with the heat....
Tom....you deserve a fishing trip...take advantage of the cooler temps and go wet a line!
Steve...way to go on the ice jigs! It sure is nice having so many good people on this site willing to help out each other....nice job Bud!!

Another pour scheduled for this morning, at least the temp won't be so bad today. Our crew has increased in size with the addition of a few more laborer's and masons, think we have around a 20 man work force now doing various projects. Starting on Monday, I'll be back at the Capitol inside doing restoration work on a tile floor in what is known as the War Room. Understand there is about 900 sq./ft to be removed and reset, keep you posted.
There's a farmers market today at the Plaza, thinking I'll pick up a few eggplants today to make some parmigiana as the ones in my garden are only slightly larger than my first finger.... ;D
The cawfee's on....cinnamon buns are on the counter, help yourself!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning ER's, The battle with the mice continues, went to check a breaker, and there was a mouse inside. :%$#!: So now setting out more decon and traps.  Got a little shower as the deck is wet this morning.  Think another warm one is on tap for today again.

Nice job on getting into the fish Mindy, and extracting the plastic, hope it doesn't take a trip to the vet to extract any more.

time for another nap before sunrise and heading into the store.

Good day all.

Good mornings Eddie and early risers.  Eddie I could not agree more with your words about Ice Shanty members . Nice that you have an increase in work force size ,have fun with the tile restoration work in the "War Room" . Enjoy the farmers market and egg plant.
Mr. Turkey sorry your wife is going through so many tests . Hopefully there is an answer soon she must be getting a little paranoid .
Mindy glad you were able to remove the plastic from Timber's teeth. Keep a watch on him hopefully he did not swallow any plastic which could lead to other problems. I think Timber is having separation issues and needs to spend some time with you he maybe a little confused between your pet sitting and numerous fishing trips. Good to see your friend Sara is recovering well from her foot surgery and able to get out with her boy friend and you.
Ice Wanderer see you beat me posting this morning. I suggest bringing a nice bottle of wine to dinner at Eddie's tonight .
IFF have a good nap and a nice day.

Every one have a good and safe day . best to all fishing.

Comfortable 66* this morning with mid 70's  guessed.  Possible rain today and tomorrow. I tried to finish mowing the front yard after we got home from the VFW fish dinner last night. Came up about 10 minutes short as it rained a little. Some fair shelf clouds preceded the rain, always nice to see if they do not bring real nasty stuff with them. Hum just looked back and the same thing happened the last time I tried to mow.

MR C  The wife finally picked up a new RX by a gastro DR. Took one pill and that was enough. She had a hard time speaking after only one pill. I do not know if that was in the warnings or not. I had the same problem with a drug once. Not fun. At least that DR found some thing to control my nerve jumps. I am only taking 1/2 of what he had prescribed.

Good Morning Everyone,
Calm and 62* this am with a high of 81 predicted for the Hill towns today.
Steve...hope your evening/early morning shift went well for you with no incidents.
Marv...glad you had a safe trip to Green Bay and taking in some sights! That was a good answer you gave to your brother....does he ice fish?....plenty of room in the Shanty!! Enjoy your time with him....
Tom...hope the Dr. can get your wife's medication under control...best wishes.
Jeff...a nice Merlot would work!   ;D
OG....Thank You, appreciate that! Have you come across any more good sales lately?
Bud...good luck with the mice removal....they can be a real pita to get under control sometimes.

Helping my buddy out again today pouring a concrete driveway....Tom, plug your ears....30 yds. of the grey stuff coming at 7..... ;D
Picked up a few beautiful looking eggplant's yesterday at the farmers market and made the sauce last night trying out a new recipe...it sure smelled good anyway! Will take care of the rest of that meal later this afternoon.
My oldest son arrived yesterday from NC for a few days visit. Sure is nice having him home again. We're planning on a family get together/barbecue for tomorrow, so figured the parmigiana would be a nice touch.
Well, time to gather some tools and get on my way.....cawfee's on gang!

Another beautiful morning in GB. Yesterday was a good time, we capped it off by taking in a County Fair. It sure makes you feel good seeing proud people demonstrate their animals and gardening skills. 4-h is also alive and well, and yes they had a beer tent

Bud, the surgery is for an AFib  problem. The Dr's seem more concerned about the days following the actual surgery.

He doesn't fish Eddie but I told him about the morning chatter and he thought that was pretty nice.

We are heading back this afternoon.

Good Morning ER's Mouse #2 hit the trap, Guess a neighbor is putting out traps too, said he has been seeing signs of mice in his garage.  Also noticed a lot of bird feathers in a corner of the sun room/storage behind some garden tools, must have been the banquette of the rat  ??? .  Might have to do an electrical breaker box update.  See the area of the 30 and 50 amp for the Stove and A/C breakers, are both tarnished and causing the breakers to over heat and trip out.  House was built in 1972 with the box being a FPE brand.  Think that brand/style is now obsolete. The other concern is all aluminum wiring was used.  Always something.  Will start asking for cost of having that done.  Expect I will hear in the $1,500 range ?

23 days to the Store's last day, August 21st was posted on the doors.  I was told to pick up a new vest, guess that means I will be heading to the new store on or before September 15th.

WW how long before your fishable ice ?  4 months yet ?  Have a good day all, if your out on the open water

My son called me  thinking his water line was frozen between the pit and the house last winter. I told him that it had not froze since I bought the place in 1969 so I doubt it. He went in the pit and opened the weltroll. There were two fried salamanders in it. The pit has been a haven for them since I bought the place. He filed the points and got it running. The next day he replaced the weltroll. One nice thing about the salamanders is they keep the bugs down in the pit.

Wonderful day yesterday. High of 75 and low humidity. Lots of rain in the southern part of the lower right but none up here so far.

WS and every one else---I look forward to opening this thread every morning, fact is every once in a while all day, to see how every one is doing. This has to be the friendliest bunch on the net. Fact is IS is one of the best around. Not all the bickering like there is on most other sites.

I haven't posted on here in almost a year, but I do check it 3/4 times a week. The last year or so has flown by. My wife has been waiting for a lung transplant. She got it 4 weeks ago yesterday and came home two weeks ago. Transplant was done at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. They are just great. She is doing very well. She has been off oxygen for about 3 weeks now. We still have to go to NYC every week for check ups for about 3 months and takes lots of meds everyday but way better than it was.

I have only fished 3 times this season so hoping to get out more before winter sets in. It has been way too hot and we could use some rain....h2l

Bud, I take Timber to a section of trail that's off-leash.  I think if I had to walk him on his leash both my shoulders would be dislocated!  ::)  I'm not a good dog trainer...my mom says Timber doesn't need the trainer, I do!  I got about 3 quarts of berries.  There were a lot on the ground and still a lot of green ones on the bushes.  Had blueberry pancakes yesterday for supper and some of the fish I got today for supper.  Yum!!

H2L great news about your wife!  We'll be waiting for updates as time goes by!  How long did she have to wait for a lung?  We do a lot of transplant coordination with the University of Wisconsin when a donor comes into the ICU.  It really is good news (bittersweet, of course) when we get a match and something good can come from a tragedy.  Hope you get out fishing soon!!  ;D
