Good Friday Morning Everyone!
I hope you all have a good wrap up to the week!

My wife informed me on Wednesday that she had rented us a room for tonight in NW Wisconsin, and we are going fishing. It has been a mad dash getting the old row boat out of the shed and ready. Not sure how long it takes Liquid Nails to cure but we have our water wings packed so we will see ;D

I hope things are getting stabilized for your wife WB. Those were some crazy numbers .

IFF what kind of dogs do you have? Best of luck, if you find time to hit the water.

How did you do fishing Eddie, did you catch some supper? Good luck at work today Sir! Stay safe and keep us posted on the hottest fashions! It has been tough pickings here, it seems they shy away from a fat guy with a chain saw ;D.

mr.clean you asked about property damage insurance. I am not sure the exact number but somewhere over 3 million. It is like any other ins. you have to have it but best not use it. Most everything that I have seen has been paid out of pocket.

Looking forward to seeing if IW has any new reports about his new pet. They really like oranges with grape jelly ;D. That bugger looks like it would be up to eating anything!

Good luck with the shower base Tom. It sounds like you will be busy for awhile.

I still have to drive a couple of nails so I best get back to the boat. Blast off time is 6 am.

Hope you all have an excellent day no matter what you have going.

Keep safe!

WS

Good Friday Morning OG, Whopper, Morning Everyone,
38* and clear on the Hill this am, high of 72 today so says the weather guessers.....
WB...sorry to hear about your wife having to go to the ER, well wishes sent and hope everything is going much better today Sir!
Bud...good luck with the Walters this morning on your " hooky " trip!
Whopper...great story about the boss's boy... :roflmao:....gotta love it!!  Hope you have a safe trip today, glad to hear the green horn is working out!  Have a great trip with the Mrs.....hope the boat works out for you ok!
Once worked for a contractor who's son thought he was God's gift and could do anything. He took it upon himself to work in an area of his choosing and just started gunning block in. Well, it just so happened there was supposed to be a door there....lol. The owner (father) shows up while we're on lunch break and discovered the disaster. He blows a fuse and demands to know who did this, why didnt the foreman stop it, blah, blah, blah, and that the mason who did it would be fired as it was clearly marked out there was a door there. The foreman smiled, nodded his head in agreement, and asked the owner if his son had an unemployment claim opened up yet.... :roflmao:
Tom...once you get the shower base, maybe you can put it back up for auction and make a few bucks?  ;D

The grey stuff, well, actually it was terracotta in color as it was stamped to resemble bricks, went well yesterday.
It was nice starting at 6 and getting out early before the all mayhem began....
Fished for about an hour on the way home and caught a few stocker browns, small ones about 8" -10", but nothing of value. It was fun hooking up a few anyway....all returned.
Well, time to get ready for another day....cawfee's on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning WS, Eddie, Old Goat, ER's,
WB......I hope all is well with your wife, like WS said crazy numbers. Do they know what caused it?
WS.....I hope you and your wife have a good trip up north, what a wife you have, plans a trip for you two and
she likes to fish as well!
Eddie....That was a good story, I always love it when the bosses kid screws up and the boss is mad as hell!
Bud.....That was a good score, I hope things dry out so you can get you grass cut.
I'll be back at the wood pile again today, I'm not pushing to get it done like I did in past years, either I'm getting
old or just to much other stuff going on at the same time. Next year I think I'm going to make a deal with my #1 son
            with his wood processor?
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out fishing.

Good morning everyone, WarBonnett prayer said for your wife and you may the doctors find the cause for spike in blood pressure and low heart beat. Whopper Stopper may you and the wife have a safe trip ,best with the boat.  I guess your boss pays some high premiums for his different insurance policies so he pays for damages out of pocket . IFF have fun on your fishing trip. By dogs I hope you are not talking about your feet spending long periods of time standing on hard surfaces can cause problems. Old Goat how is the bargin hunting going this week.  Also are there any upcoming dance recitals for your daughter. Eddie nice story, assume stamping the concrete to look like bricks keeps the building costs down over laying individual bricks. Ice Wanderer don't aggravate your shoulder working on the wood pile. IFF's idea sounds good I know they make portable electric fencing for backpackers to take into bear country to protect their tents.

A good and safe day to all ,best to those fishing.

Eddie  Putting the base back up for auction is not a bad idea. I bought the base on an online auction for $60.00. It is new in the box with damage to one corne of the box but now VISABLE damage to the base. I do not know why I do not keep my mouth shut when I run into stuff like this. I am probably going to have to pay some help to get the project done. Probably pay in pain as well.

I have a nephew that is a cpa. He is working doing concrete work for a living. He could not stand being trapped in an office. He does some stamped concrete. He is the distributor for one of the brands of foam blocks and builds houses out of them.

IW No need to make a deal with the son. Tell him to help or you will cut him out of the will. LOL

Whew, what a day, got his boat launched at 7:00, by 7:15 my line was in the water and boated the first Walleye by 7:20 Loaded the boat at 11:30, and clocked into work at 12:15.  Ended with a nice limit for him to take home.  Nice relaxing day to start, the alarms have been going off pretty regular as shoppers are leaving the store, mostly from missed security tags not being removed.  Then as I was nearing the exit, and guy zips right out without so much as breaking stride with me hot on his heals yelling at him to stop and come back in as he had set off the alarm, he nearly broke into a run for his car and yelled over his shoulder he didn't have anything, and then did break into a run.  I pulled out my I-phone and took a picture of his cars license plate.  I also noticed he had parked in such a way that he was facing the exit, and wouldn't be blocked in.  Reported it to upper management and they forwarded the cars description and plate # to the police.  Bet he won't be back  ;D

Headed home at 10:15, and yes the dogs I am referring to are my feet.  See I got that carb, I order arrived so plan on getting the yard taken care of in the morning, then off to the store for another 8 1/2 to end the week.

WS good fishing trip to you, Hope its just right.

Might have something to ad in the wee hours but right now the dogs want to take a dip in the tub.

Good Morning Raquette, Morning Everyone,
40* and clear this am, high of 65 expected here....nice Spring day! Weather guessers showing 80* temps coming in about mid week....some humidity to boot.
Haven't seen you in a bit Dom...how's everything going with the nursery?
Whopper...hope you're enjoying the fishing trip and have good weather! Agree with Jeff...you've got a great Gal there Sir, what a great surprise!
Bud...that was an action packed day for you yesterday, yee hah! Congrats on the fishing trip, glad the Walters were finally active. Some nice foot work chasing down the bandit and getting a picture as well, that's awesome!     Hope your day goes well today and you don't have to do any 50 yard dashes... ;D
Tom....I'm familiar with the foam block foundation system's, they're slowly gaining popularity around here, but they have some drawbacks as well. Actually saw them for the first time in the early 90's down in Florida...they were using them on in ground swimming pools back then. Good luck on the auction if you go that route...
Jeff...hope the arm didn't get aggravated with the wood cutting/splitting/stacking yesterday...slow and easy wins the race they say! Grab a fishing pole and hit the stream if you can today!

Some lawn mowing to do again today, and getting the garden started....think the frosty nights are gone for awhile, hard to figure with the way this year has been!
Have a great weekend guys, be safe, best of luck to those fishing.....cawfee's on!

               Good morning Raquette, Eddie, ER's,
Dom......Glad to see you are still around, you probably have been really busy at the nursery!
Eddie......Thanks for thinking of my shoulder, I split another pile yesterday, I have yet stacked any wood!
I needed to replace some pallets, some were broken and I didn't want to walk on them in the snow with a possibility
of twisting an ankle! I saw a pile at the local IGA and inquired about them, the guy I talked to said they had 2 stacks,
one stack were those cheap throw a ways and the other were heavy duty and they were $3 a piece, the boss saw us
talking and came over, long story short I got 8 good one for $10!
Bud.....Good job on the cell phone pic of the bandits car and plate #, let's hope they nail that guy! That sounded
a fast and easy fishing trip!
WS.....I hope you took some pictures of your fishing trip, we could use some good fishing porn!
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out fishing or even working around your home!

Good morning early risers. Raquettedacker nice to see you back posting ditto Eddie's words about the nursery. IFF I had a similar experience with a shop lifter gets your heart rate up hope the police are able to track the person down and make an arrest . Congratulations on getting some walleyes. Eddie may you have a good week end also sir. I hope things are going better for WarBonett"s wife. I wonder if Whopper Stopper will post via his phone any photos from his fishing trip? Ice Wanderer hope your not feeling any shoulder pain after working on the wood pile.
I had a pleasant Friday took my friend out to dinner to thank him for mowing my lawn. We went to the Cracker Barrel in Dutchess County took the Newburgh-Beacon bridge over the Hudson river. I received another act of kindness at the toll booth used the full service lane since I do not have "EZpass" let a pickup truck get into line. When I got to the toll booth attendant told me the driver of pickup had paid my toll. Nice surprise also made me feel good that there are still people who appreciate acts of kindness.

Have a good Saturday folks, best to all fishing.

Got to love sea foam. I finally put the muffs on the toon motor. It did not turn over 6 or 8 times till it fired right up. All ready to go in the lake for the summer. The launch will be busy this week end so I will probably wait until Monday.

There is a lake weed and fish meeting this morning that I should go to but probably better stay home. It would not be good for my BP as I do not get along with the bassaholics on the lake. It is time that they looked after the interest of the non bass people on the lake. The one guy has pushed killing all the pike in the lake because they are predators. When we had a major pike die off followed by getting over run with dink gills.

Got in from San Diego late last night from seeing my son in the Navy, at the base in Coronado, was a good trip, cloudy and overcast everyday, but the temps. were in the low 60's -
Would definitely go again as this was my first trip there, just won't do Tijuana, not impressed - sightseeing was good for what the wife and I did, mix and match - I thought the food was excellent, wife, another story - They still have snow on the tops of the ranges in the Southern Rockies, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado - Come on November
Now is the time for all good men and women to engage in the sport of ice fishing

Cut the day short, hours plus, someone delivered the "Cough", got a real raspy throat, Sure hope its not what was going around earlier, that took 5-6 weeks to get over seems like.  But that's to be expected being out in and dealing with the public.  back to the program, lots of fluids,  ::)

Good morning early risers 1 guest and I on the site at 4:22 AM . WarBonett  good to see you posting that your Wife's blood pressure and heart rate are back in the "normal" range.  Mr.Turkey good job getting the motor on pontoon boat running.  It is hard to get people to realize that each fish species has it's place in any body of water and population levels of anyone species will rise and fall over the years. When we humans try to increase the number of any one species problems usually occur such as stunted fish growth.
IFF hope you recover quickly from the raspy throat. You are correct working in retail exposes a person to many germs.  Capt. Jim glad you and your wife had a safe trip to visit your son. Your area of NJ. will see an increase in population soon with the summer residents and vacationers. Ice Wanderer good score on the pallets , surprised you were able to purchase them at my store we send the empty pallets back to the distribution center/warehouse. Good old IGA one of the few chains that still services small markets, I know Big M chain has some stores spread through out the Adirondack Mountain region of NYS . I also wonder what is going on with Yoopergirl/Mindy , she may be doing more work on her house renovation project in addition to her nursing work.

A safe a good Sunday to all. Best to all fishing.

Good Sunday Morning Steve, Morning Everyone,
Overcast skies and 52* this am, high of 67 expected with a chance of rain again.
Didn't realize it till this morning, but yesterday was the (2) year birthday of this thread....Happy Birthday 9:45!!
Bud...hope that cough is a little better today. A couple fingers worth of bourbon after noon time may help...best wishes!
Welcome back Captain! Glad to hear you had a nice trip visiting your son...Thank him for his service, we appreciate that!
WB...that's great news the Mrs. is doing better! Not quite sure where our nurse is either....Mindy, if you're out there fishing in that new boat, hope you're hammering them!  PS....we need a cake!!     ;D
Steve...nice job on treating your buddy to a dinner for the lawn work...  It's also nice hearing that people are still out there that appreciate acts of kindness...seems pretty rare these days.
Jeff...that was a good score on the pallets! The good hardwood ones will last awhile.
Tom...glad to hear the boat is ready...think you made a good choice passing on the meeting, no need to get your BP up disagreeing with the know it alls....

Caught up on my yard work yesterday and ended the evening with a small fire with the grand kids after dinner.
Small side job to do this morning with a friend, then a Birthday barbecue with most of the family....my daughter turns 25 today...Happy Birthday Lacey!

                  Good morning Steve, Eddie ER's,
Eddie......Say Happy Birthday to your daughter from us all. We also had a fire and BBQ last night with
                  a part time neighbor.
Bud.....I hate being around other people that are sick, they don't have the common sense to stay home
but seem compelled to pass there sickness around!
Captain.......I'm glad to hear you had a good time in San Diego, I was stationed there where I was in the Navy.
Staying away from TJ is a good idea, it's nothing but filth down there, at least when I was there back in the 60's early
                  70's.
                          WB.....X2 on your wife's recovery!
Steve....I am impressed with you and your long time friend, it rare these days that someone will go and do a thing
like mowing a lawn for someone else!
I wonder how WS and his wife are making out on their fishing trip, I hope he took lots of pictures!
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out wetting a line.

Good Morning all

Sorry IW no worthy pictures to show. We had a fantastic time but the fishing was poor to say the least. We talked to many people at the landing and everyone said the same thing. It was blue bird skies and zero winds. The temps reached the Hi 70's and I got a good sunburn to deal with. We fished 2 lakes, one was 5000 acres and the other was 2000. We caught some runt pike, and a few bass but all small. No complaints here, and yes my wife is a dandy and my best friend. Not sure what she saw in this old tree chopper, but I always say I won the only lottery that ever mattered

I have to go through and see what I missed. Just wanted to wish everyone a Good Sunday. Happy birthday 9:45 and Happy Birthday  Lacey

I was not smart enough to stay away from the meeting. Got shot down on planting walleye as as I expected. I did miss my chance at the guy that has taken control of what is planted. He is the one that told every one to kill all off the pike as they were predators. When I started talking walleye he started shaking his head NO the minute I started talking. Missed my chance to add that since bass are also a predator, I guess we should be killing them off. It would be quite a job as they are planting another 1,500 on top of almost that many last year.

Our president that has not come back from Florida yet due to his wife having medical issues ordered a trash dumpster. We told him it needed to be watched 24/7. The guy that the president had watching it put a no more dumping sign up and left. Wow what a mess. It is piled 6 foot over the top and stuff all over the ground. I guess it can sit there until the president gets home from Fla as I am not going to fix his fiasco.

Sorry for the rants but yesterday was a bad day.

Need to get the grass cut today. A lot of things to get done before the holiday as every one is coming for an early get together on Sunday to beat the home bound traffic on Monday. I need to get the toon out of my drive way so maybe I will launch it today. I checked the dock and it is still there to tie it to.

Happy Birthday to Lacey. Dang I am getting old. My grandkids are almost that old.

Well the curb replacement went quick, Might be weeks before the street get is mill job, got the new carb on weed whacker, had to hold mouth just right to get the throttle cable hooked up.  So now no excuse to not be working on the yard.  Wow 9:45 has been running that long ?  With people on the street with big signs about the store closing, finding the experienced as well as those that have never tied a hook on a piece of fishing line, with lots of questions.  Think I am going to make a sign, GOOGLE FISHING  ;D  Looking out across my deck I see thousands of spider webs dancing in the breeze.  Better arm myself with some home defense and spray the exterior.  Looks like I will be the only one in the fishing department from Noon till closing.  Roller skates might be in order, but think my coworkers would think that would not be a good idea  :o ::)

Good day all what ever you under take on this beautiful Sunday.  There's a holiday coming up  ??? oh right, will have to take a look at the calendar. ;D

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Just a quick Hello before heading to the jungle for an early start.

I hope the BBQ went well Eddie! I see you are in the hallway, have a great day Sir!

Not much for me to share, lawn mowing and planting grass seed took care of my Sunday.

The guessers are chirping a chance of severe weather this afternoon. They overdo it so bad that by the time a real storm hits everyone has ignored them. Is it just here or is that how they all do it ???

Hope everyone has a safe day whether working or heading to the lake!

51* to start off the day, high of 75 predicted here.
Thank You all for the birthday wishes for my daughter....she got a kick out of that when I told her yesterday...  .....and then she asked what I was doing on an ice fishing sight in the summer?
Welcome back Marv, glad to read you had a great trip...it's not always about the biggest fish being caught right? Have a good safe day today....  The barbecue went well, and everybody had a nice time, thanks!
Bud...hope your patience level holds up with all the questions...roller skates could equate to roller derby!  ;D
Tom...sounds like you had a frustrating day at the meeting, sorry to hear that, hope yesterday was better. Did you launch the boat?

Side job went well yesterday and as the morning went on, a few of the neighbors came by to investigate. My buddy ended up giving out a few estimates, so might pick up some more jobs in that area.
Another work week ahead...starting off with pouring more sidewalks today....time to get ready...cawfee's on!
Have a great day guys, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning Whopper Stopper and early risers. Before I forget a Happy Birthday to Eddie's daughter Lacey and the 9:45 thread. Two hundred forty three or four pages in two years tells me we enjoy interacting with each other. WS sorry to read your wife or you did not catch any personal best fish or any worth bringing home. Still sounds like you had a good trip . Mr.Turkey may the pontoon boat launch be problem free , Have a great time with your family this coming Sunday. Please feel free to rant we all need to vent our feelings from time to time. I hope they also stock some bait fish with the bass depending on your lake's forage base additional food may be needed for fish growth.  I'm surprised your association president did not arrange for the dumpster to be emptied on a regular schedule.
IFF hope your throat is feeling better ,think I picked up something in these past few day my throat is also sore. How did all your department coworkers get off on a Sunday especially when there is a big store wide sale. Eddie is Lacey also the daughter who gave birth to her first child a few months back or is she the one engaged to be married .

May everyone have a good and safe Monday . Best to all fishing and hunting.
Steve

Good Morning Jeff, Eddie ER's  Store Manage said he see I logged 63 hours last week   that deposit will look good when it hits. So far easier to say what we don't have in store, Pfluger President reels, and Deep Cycle batteries, weights are wiped out.  Expect to see all the salmon eggs to be the next thing that we will run out of.  Reports of good numbers and sizes of Walleye's being caught in the evenings, at my local lake, now that the water temps are hitting the low 60's  Got some garden planted.  We have been having to bring the bird feeders in, finally figured out that there is a Raccoon raiding them in the dark 30 hours.  Think I have the cough and runny noise on the run.  Coffee sounds like a good idea right about now.  Ended last night with helping the shoe department try and straighten that mess up, they brought all the back stock out, and it looked like a tornado had hit the area.

Speaking of bar-b-que reminds me I need to get some pork ribs out of the freezer and into the smoker.  Hope the pours go as expected, and no mishaps Eddie

Sorry about the frustrating meeting Tom,  WS maybe that weather will miss your area, haven't looked at mine for today yet, but I really don't expect to be out side, another full day in the store

now for my wake up coffee

Good day all
Bud

Good Morning, IS members - Starting to cloud up, with rain for the p.m. - Tijuana itself was not bad, more of a hassle getting into and out of the town at the border, wife wanted to go, do you want to sleep with both eyes closed or one eye open? - Time for 2nd cup, make lunch, off to work - Everyone be safe and have fun
Now is the time for all good men and women to engage in the sport of ice fishing
