The bigger fish dont seem to take as long as the smaller fish, maybe becuase of the depth (4 feet ice, less than 2 feet water) dont think they can turn around and run very far, The fish 36 inches and under peeled line off the reel and played out much hard to get then turned to the hole.

The biggest fish took probably less than a minute, but seemed like forever..haha

By the bent hook it looks like they must be quite aggressive and fight hard when hooked.
How would they compare to a pike of the same size? ???

How big would you say the largest were?

The bigger fish go around 30-35 lbs...I know some fish wont fit through the hole. I belive the biggest of this trip went atleast 35 pushing close to 40. The initial bite is a strong take, kinda of odd but the smaller fish 36 inches and under seem to fight and rip drag more than the larger ones.

I guess it depends on the pike..haha Its been my experience that sheefish play out much more than pike do through the ice.
