where are the splake?!?!?
« on: Apr 18, 2014, 03:49 PM »
made a trip out to lyons on wednesday with my girlfriend to get her her first trout!
we did catch fish but it was nothing like the action im used to on that lake!

fished a couple of my spots that usually always provide good results and the odd fish with a bit better size.
usually my catch on that lake is somewhere around 5:1 of splake to rainbows and most will run around 14"

underwater camera in shallow water is usually constant action all day and lots of super aggressive splake! everywhere from 25-2' of water didnt catch a single splake but my girlfriend thought she might have seen one shallower where i usually do best. saw the odd rainbow or two but not many showed much interest and we threw everything at them!

only things caught were 3 smaller extremely light biting rainbows

my question to all you is where are the usually abundant splake that will screem the drag on your deadstick i love catching in this lake???
usually can find them all winter in the one spot i fish but not one! ice should still be good next week to try again, maybe we can find them next time!
hello my name is lostman and im an ice fishing addict, and always will be
