Around 2 feet over the weekend in Winthrop.  Great fishing.....I was hoping for one more trip next weekend.  But it's about 60* now, no real cool downs, and 2 rains in the forecast in the next 5 days.  The ice is getting beat on hard.  I'm beginning to have doubts about next weekend.

Plenty of ice. Most of the shorelines around me are still pretty solid.

You're going to need an icebreaker in order to open water fish, at least until next month!

How do you think this ice melt delay will effect the rest of the seasons and the fish activity in relation to the seasons?

My normal parking place near LSebago had 20' of open water around shore. I worked around to the so. side of the lake and found a place to walk on . fished 4 hrs and only 6 small fish. Think the suckers and smelts are moving into the mouths of streams  and most all fish follow . Not safe near moving water. This was my last trip. My flasher in 10 different holes that usually show fish was a blank.

30+ inches on two different western Maine ponds today.  A foot of slush, water and snow on top of that. Walking was easy this morning but got worse as the day warmed up.

20" of good black ice, 4-8" of snow ice.  Snow should be melted off most lakes after the upcoming rain.  Still another solid 2 weeks of fishing with sleds and wheelers for sure.  Gonna be early May for a lot of ice outs up this way for sure.
