All lakes and ponds in southern Maine are open to ice fishing now except places that are specifically designated as CI.

Now  That will help me a lot. I just got use to the old law book everything was in black and white . Nice clear laws .It just seems to me they just make the law book more and more complicated as the years fly past. I supposed it helps the warden service raise their income. And they wonder why they are selling less hunting and fishing license's  then years past. All my nice northern lakes I use to enjoy fishing in April , they close to ice fishing and leave southern lakes open where the ice don't last as long.

Really??

It means you can fish year round unless there's special regulations saying otherwise.
