Found it, 24" +.
Mostly a scouting trip, but found some gear in the back of my truck.
Fished for a few hours this afternoon.
Found this Sally....
Don't know much at all about bass, but it felt like a solid 3 lber
Had a bunch of hit, split & spits.
Had probably another sally on a tip up get wrapped around something solid. I could gain a hard couple feet at a time, but knew I was going to have to give up my leader & fish... I did!
A little later another flag went up. Ambled over and checked it out. The spool had hardly moved. Watched it for a few, and slowly than steadily she started to spin. Snubbed it up, and got a sally much bigger than the first.
The pic absolutely doesn't do it justice, but it was a fat 19" er.
A bit of a puzzle getting the head, headed in the right direction? Sally preferred broad side to the hole, but I managed.
Joined the 5 month ice season club today.
It was a beautiful day to be out.
Pretty sure it was the first for me this year without gloves and jacket on.
The load back was heavier than on the way out.... Picked up some soggy 6x6 blocking that had thawed out after somebody had taken their house off.
