That's just shameful. Those people are not fishermen, and deserve to be punished. Hopefully somebody can identify who that was based on the location.

I am going to make an assumption and say that is where a shanty once stood.Crap like that gives true icefishermen a bad name.Can you say stereotype.Now non fisherman think were all like that.I assume i could be wrong and it has nothing to do with ice fishing.

All that does is give the people who want to keep ice fishing off their lakes such as Spofford Lake Assoc. more ammunition to say We as fishermen are all like that, and this is why We don't want ice fishing on our lake. these people who ever they are, ought to have their as@es kick from there back to where they came from. Pukes like that ruin it for the rest of us who care about our sport and take pride in it and the lands and waters we enjoy. As much as I hate law and fees, I think having a permit to have a hard side out on the ice and then require a registration with description and photo at time of registration, and have a decal such as a snowmobile or ATVs placed on the hard side. Just a registration A Fee lets say of $5 to cover cost of decal. Do not require a name and address on the hard side This way no one know the hard side belong to. Take a photo of it when it taken off the ice with decal attached to prove it was taken off and not destroyed on the ice. Now if there are incidents like this the wardens can track down the owners no matter where they are. just a crazy thought

It's not just the hard water season,every year I find used fish hook packets ,plastic beer holders ,used worm containers ,fishing line floating along with fishing gear packages on the top of the water ,ect these men or women ,aren't true stewards of the great outdoors the Indians were right.

Unfortunately it happens every year.

I think the names & addresses should absolutely remain on the houses.
If people see a house in danger, they can notify the owner of the situation via the required phone #.
Many people have gone by that house & hopefully someone remembers who it belongs (ed) to.

Im betting a few people here that may have visited meredith bay or fished the derby have pics of the perps. Thats a high traffic area I bet there is some photo evidence of who it is? Im sure someone in the ice village on meredith bay knows who it is....... It makes responsible ice fisherman look bad............

Completely appalled by this sight! There is absolutley no reason for this shameful act.
I 100% hope that the perp's are found/caught and punished!
I suggest 10 years of community service picking up trash along the highway wearing a sign that says "I am no better than the trash i pick up"!!!

Total disgust is what comes to mind when I see this. I personally do not own a hard side. But to those that think fees and registrations for hard sides will stop this type of thing from happening are foolish. Let's punish everyone with fees, taxes, registrations for the actions of a couple boneheads. As if we don't have enough of that
