tip up fishing lakers

What do u guys use for leaders and hooks for lake trout on tipups? What type of bait ?

Although everyone is different, I use 8lb fluorocarbon with a 14 treble. Some put some bling on but I don't. I go for the natural look. Make sure you have at least 150 yards of backer line and very good knots. When you hook into a decent fish everything comes into play and hang on.

Same as above but I run a #4 red circle hook, definitely want big spool tip ups they will peel that line out quick on you, don't take your time getting to a flag. Bait is different by the day depends on how the fish are acting one day is large shiners or suckers, other days Ive fished with guys running big baits I was using med shiners and they couldn't get a bite but my flags where flying high.
