Nice little evening
« on: Mar 17, 2014, 08:08 PM »
Got out on Lake Dale for a few hours this evening. Fish turned on once the sun started to go down. Marked fish the whole time and nothing of any size. Good to get out though.

Yea I am not really sure how long it is going to last. Edges were the worst I have seen but still had no problem getting on. We will see what this rain does. I would like to get out a few more times but who knows.

Yea and both spillways on the south end are flowing really heavy. I have also seen some really cool looking waterfowl in the open water on the north end. As I type this I cant remember if they were mostly white with black heads or mostly black with white heads but I stopped to watch for a few min. Really cool looking bird and they kept diving for something.

Would you be talking about a loon?

(Image removed from quote.)

I don't think it was a loon. I think it had a black head and more of an all white body. Sort of a pointy beak like a loon though. Who knows maybe I'm making it up just thinking about spring approaching.

there are sawbills (common merganser) redheads, canvasbacks and coots piled up on the water out there. usually once latulip harbor opens up knto the lake a bit (cedar lake) i usually see a few loons hanging around there for a week or two. went past gkm yesterday there were a few sawbills and even a goldeye there too. lot of water starting to open up in the region in last two days, see what this rain does to it all.

Lol. Ive eaten lots of bluebills, redheads, ringnecks and cans but these lips are not touching mergansers, buffleheads or shovelers.
