I fished the islands sun-tues and did really good.The ice was 18-20 at least with no worries,but 2 miles south of me out by green island 2 guys on quads went in tues morn.They weren't by the crack or anything just out riding along and down they went..1 guy got out right away and the other was in about 20 min before they could get to him..I saw him loaded in the lifeflight chopper as I stay right by the airport..They said he will be okay..I guess my point is you just cant assume the ice is good everywhere..This time of year with the wind and current then add warm temps and watch out..Flying out yesterday I saw open water just off sbi 100 yards or so..Im not lookin to scare just be cautious out there...I hope I can get in 1 more trip this yr...See ya on the ice....
