LOTI
« on: Mar 08, 2014, 05:17 PM »
Fished LOTI this morning. Ended up with 27 perch and 3 crappie. Larget of each were 12" but many of the perch over 10".  Ended up with just over 3# of fillets. Fish may finally be starting to bite but it will only get better. Many people and vehicles on the ice today but i' not sure how anyone else did.

Cool! I'm giving either LOTI or Keewaydin a try today. Hoping for crappies, I've never caught them before.

Went to Keewaydin and fished the marina. Not a single fish in two hours. :'( Drove up to Chippewa Bay and caught a few dink perch. That's what I get for not going to LOTI.

With the snow were getting and amount forecast access may become a problem. They are calling for 12-18" with wind and cold but nicer temps. for the weekend. Not sure how trucks or wheelers will handle that but there is a lot of ice off Dewolf Point so ice isn't going away soon.

My take from yesterday.  Bad picture but all very nice slabs.  Smallest was 9 3/4" and the biggest was just under 14".  Ended up with 5lbs of fillets total.
Dont bother askin when ill be home, you know when it gets dark out

You might want to be carful on the ramp, the snow drifted in and there was a lot of slush there if you drive a vehicle on to the ice.

The ramp at Dewolf was very rutted. Fullsize trucks made it on the ice but I didn't want to risk getting hung up with my Trailblazer. May bring my wheeler tomorrow.

Snow is drifted in places about 10 inches deep and places where there is none.

Ice is covered with water and slush. Launch has deep ruts and water is running down the ruts. I believe some of the vehicles on the ice may have problems getting off this afternoon. Glad I took my 4 wheeler. I only kept 13 perch this morning.

Fished yesterday afternoon and this morning. Caught about a forth of a pail of decent perch each day. A decent flury at first ice but things slowed by 10:00.
