I was in HOG heaven

Finally landed that last walleye I needed for my Walleye Specialist award. It eluded me for the past 2 years. I came close soooooo many times as close as 1/8th of an inch  ::) Funny, I had a feeling when I woke up today that this would be the day. To make my day, it was the first fish I landed today  :thumbsup: The action was hot and heavy all morning. My MarCum screen was lit up all morning. The bite was aggressive for a change. All I had to do was put the lure just above the mark and start reeling slowly and BAM……fish on! The action was so consistent it reminded me of a good day of Perch fishing. I couldn't keep up. Never had to change lures but now the hooks I was using need a good sharpening……no guff   ;D

29 inches of happiness and relief that my quest has come to a conclusion!

I'm still smiling today and yes ALL those BIGUNS were released for someone else to catch (hopefully my Grandson  ;) ;D )

Thanks guys……considering the weather conditions this season and all my cancelled trips I feel fortunate to have had some success this season. Picking up some invaluable tips from this site has helped me succeed.
I'll disregard the "frozen eyes" (that was actually snow…..because I was fishing on snow) and the "did you keep it" comments from the peanut gallery.

4 Brown Trout and 2 Catfish are my next goals but the biggest monkey (walleye) is now off my back  :)
