Perch
« on: Feb 22, 2014, 10:46 AM »
I'm new to ice fishing and My son and I are heading to Corsica SD next week end to see my niece and nephew. We thought we would do a little ice fishing when we were up there, Are there any good lakes with perch in them with in a hour and a half away from there. Not looking for any of your hot spots just a good lake to try, Thanks for any info you can give.

Thanks Scott

From there probably Lake Thompson SE of Desmet.  Its got pretty good populations of perch, walleye and had a really good crappie bite this winter.

I've been in SD all my life and on this site for a long time and have not heard or read much for perch fishing in that area.  I'm sure there are perch around but just not talked about outside the local area.   The slough on the north side of the Spencer exit on I 90 gave up some perch last winter but don't know much from this year.  It's a little ways east of Mitchell.
